Anguilla Welcomes New Resorts, Receives Nomination for Luxury Favourite

TORONTO, JANUARY, 2019— Long regarded as the Caribbean’s most luxurious and restful destination, the beautiful island of Anguilla is living up to its reputation for excellence with numerous early award nods and a pair of grand openings.

On January 1, 2018, the luxury-boutique Quintessence Hotel (Q Hotel) opened its doors to the public and has since pampered tourists from all around the world. Today, the Anguilla Tourist Board is proud to announce that the Q Hotel has been nominated for the Travel + Leisure 2019 World's Best Awards. The World’s Best Awards are a year-round contest recognizing the greatest islands, airports, cities, and accommodations from around the globe, as chosen by a popular vote.

The Quintessence nomination comes on the heels of Anguilla’s repeat achievement of being named Travel + Leisure’s Caribbean island of the year. The island, often regarded as the Caribbean’s ‘hidden gem’, was selected as the winner in 2017 and 2018. Concurrently, four separate hotel properties in Anguilla cracked the Top 25 Resort Hotels in the Caribbean list, with the Frangipani Beach Resort winning the popular vote.

With the Winter 2019 travel season now in full swing, the brand-new Long Bay Villas & Santosha Villa Estate have announced the official grand opening of their doors. These newly-transformed and renovated properties boast a luxury experience for travellers with a prime location along Anguilla's beautiful Long Bay Beach. With personalized service, stunning ocean views and access to secluded Long Bay Beach right from your villa door, both properties will be strong contenders for a place on 2019’s Top 25 list.

In celebration of the grand opening of the Long Bay Villas and Santosha Villa Estate, a special limited time offer is available: guests who book six nights at either of the properties will receive a seventh night rental free.

ABOUT ANGUILLA

Tucked away in the northern Caribbean, Anguilla is a shy beauty with a warm smile. A slender length of coral and limestone fringed with green, the island is ringed with 33 beaches, considered by savvy travellers and top travel magazines, to be the most beautiful in the world.

Anguilla lies just off the beaten path, so it has retained a charming character and exclusivity. Yet because it can be conveniently reached from two major gateways: St Martin and Puerto Rico, and by private air, it’s a hop and a skip away.
