Celebrate Olympic History This Summer in Whistler

Whistler, B.C. – Signs of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games can be found around Whistler from the welcoming Inukshuks to the Olympic rings or the new experiences left behind by this unforgettable event. Take the opportunity to recreate the magic of the Olympics on your next visit to Whistler through a self-guided Olympic Legacies tour or try a new activity at an Olympic venue.

Relive the glory of the Winter Games by visiting the Whistler Olympic Park, where one-third of all medals at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games were awarded. Test your shot at the summer biathlon, head to the top of an Olympic ski jump on an electric assisted fat bike or explore the landmarks and sights in an Olympic sightseeing experience.

Train like an Olympian and take on the steepest 400m race in the world on August 5. The Red Bull 400 returns to the Whistler Olympic Park and challenges entrants to race from the bottom to the top of an Olympic ski jump.

Stop by the Whistler Sliding Centre, home to the fastest ice track in the world. The ice has melted for the season but summer bobsleigh is available daily until September 3. Ride the Olympic track in a wheeled sled, steered by a trained pilot, to reach speeds of up to 90 km/hr.

Step back in time and revisit the 2010 Winter Olympic Games exhibit at the Whistler Museum. Guests can hold an Olympic torch, try on an Olympic ski bib or sport the iconic Smurf blue volunteer uniform from 2010. Uniforms and gear from 13 of the Olympic and Paralympic athletes from the Sea-to-Sky corridor are also on display along with stories and souvenirs.

Whistler is celebrating Canada 150 all year long with special menus, experiences and accommodation packages. Experience the magic of the Olympics on your Canadian bucket list vacation in Whistler.
