Young families are often under a lot of financial pressure. From day care and diapers to extra curricular activities, many believe they cannot afford a vacation or simply go without one. Parents of young children are often overworked and overwhelmed but one of the worst things they can do for their career, health, marriage and family is skipping a vacation. It’s time to recognize that taking time off is good for both your mental and physical health – so you come back to your busy life recharged.
An Affordable Destination
Cuba still remains the most affordable destination for a beach vacation. Many resorts range from $1,500 to $1,800 per adults and $700 to $800 per child. A week at an all-inclusive for a family of four could be as low as $4,400 including airfare, taxes and fees. Currently, there are several packages priced $800 and under per person plus taxes and fees. A Popular Destination
In the first two months of 2018, Cuba has received more than one million tourists, putting the destination on track for a record-breaking year. In all of 2017, the nation welcomed 4.7 million tourists, making it likely that 2018 will match and exceed the success of the previous year. A catalyst for this spike in tourism is Cuba’s recognition as “the safest country for tourism” at the 38th annual International Tourism Fair (FITUR).
Amusement Park
Isla del Coco or Coco Island Park opened in 2008 as a medium-size theme park and is situated on the outskirts of Havana. The park is designed not only to entertain children but the entire family. Rides include bumper cars, a ferris wheel, a carousel, and several roller coasters. The park is geared for all levels of adventure from very mild and tame rides to upside down roller coasters.
Coincidence Farm
One of the best farm-to-table restaurants is located about 40 minutes from Varadero. Finca Coincidencia or Coincidence Farm is the perfect place to teach children where their food comes from. The farm sits on a vast amount of land, providing ample space for children to run around and explore their surroundings. The property contains more than 500 species of trees, plants and flowers as well as chickens, pigs, turkeys and bees, allowing children to explore and enjoy nature. Once the children are tired out, sit down to a fresh, organic, and homemade Cuban meal. Children will have the opportunity to taste new foods grown right on the farm. After all the fresh air and a delicious meal, the children will be sleeping soundly all the way back to the resort.
