Free Bike Tours in Havana, Cuba

Updated: Nov 29, 2018

Bicicletear La Habana (Bicycling Havana) is a free tour for bike lovers, who cycle as a group throughout Cuba’s capital city on the first Sunday of every month. Cyclists gather at 5:00 pm at Parque de los Mártires Universitarios, in Centro Habana, and the route is finalized shortly before the group sets off.

Recently, cycling has become a popular, cost-effective transportation choice among tourists in Havana. The non-profit group aims to promote road safety, bike lanes, parking spots, bike repair shops and more, all to improve conditions and to make Havana a more bike-friendly city.

Bicicletear La Habana derives its mission from the Critical Mass movement, a cultural phenomena that started in San Francisco and has spread to 300 cities worldwide. Founded in 2015 with only a dozen participants, the Havana-based version now has over a hundred participants.
